US President Donald Trump confirmed that "talks with Iran are now underway," noting that they are "conducted at the request of Iran," expressing his hope that Tehran will "come to its senses."
He said that he wanted to give Iran a “last chance” before striking a “deadly blow,” considering that this was the last chance it had.
Regarding the Iranian nuclear file, he explained that the discussion would enter a second phase, expecting the negotiations to take longer.
Trump stressed that "the Strait of Hormuz must remain completely open, and that Iran will not be allowed to impose fees on ships crossing it," adding: "The Strait of Hormuz must be opened tomorrow, and things will go quickly for Iran."
He also pointed out that developments in the Iranian file "are moving in a very good direction."
